This Privacy Policy explains what information Dakhni.org collects, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors. Dakhni.org is a static, freely readable archive of Deccan heritage. It does not require registration, does not sell personal information, and collects very little data about its visitors.
Information we collect
Dakhni.org does not operate user accounts, and reading the Site does not require submitting any personal information. The Site uses a small number of third-party services, described below, that may collect limited data in the ordinary course of web use.
Analytics
Dakhni.org uses Google Analytics to understand overall traffic patterns — for example, which pages are read most, and roughly how visitors find the Site — so that the archive can be improved over time. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy. Dakhni.org does not use this data to identify individual visitors.
Comments
Content pages include a comments section powered by Disqus, a third-party commenting service. The Disqus widget loads automatically when you view a content page, whether or not you choose to comment. This means Disqus may receive standard request information — such as your IP address, browser and device information, and the page you are viewing — and set its own cookies simply because the page was loaded, in accordance with Disqus's own privacy policy. If you choose to leave a comment, Disqus additionally collects the information you provide, such as your name, comment text, or Disqus account details. Comments are public and visible to other visitors. Dakhni.org does not control, and is not responsible for, how Disqus collects or handles information through its comment widget.
Local storage
Dakhni.org uses your browser's local storage to remember one thing: whether you have already dismissed the notice about AI-assisted content near the top of the page, so that it is not shown to you again. This information stays in your browser and is never transmitted to Dakhni.org or any third party.
Cookies
Beyond what Google Analytics and Disqus may set as described above, Dakhni.org does not itself set cookies. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings, and Google offers a browser opt-out add-on for Analytics.
Children's privacy
Dakhni.org is a general-audience historical and cultural resource and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
